A lifelong resident of Western Pennsylvania, Steve Groves has become a thriving artist, both as a musician and a photographer. After getting both a bachelor's and a master's degree in music from Duquesne University, Steve worked in retail management and advertising for several years before returning to his Alma Mater, this time as an employee.
Currently, Steve is the Manager of Music Events for the Mary Pappert School of Music where he is responsible for booking, marketing, and managing the over 200 annual concerts and recitals presented there.
In addition, he is growing his photography business, working with local organizations including The Frick Pittsburgh, Laurel Highlands High School, Red Caiman Media, and more. Combining his love for music and photography, many of Steve's photography clients are musicians, themselves. Steve has been hired to work for the Aris Paul Band, Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestras (TRYPO), the Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra, Heavy Chest, James Houlik, and Mike Tomaro, to name a few.
When Steve is not at work at his day job or as a photographer, he can be found playing trumpet and singing in one of Pittsburgh's favorite local party bands, Uptown Rhythm & Brass (uptown-rb.com).
Steve lives just outside of Pittsburgh with his wife, Melanie, and his son, Evan.
